Historic Monarch Gondola
The Monarch Crest Scenic Tramway is a classic Colorado mountain stop about 45 miles (50–55 minutes) from the Surf Hotel, heading west on US-50 to Monarch Pass.
To ride the tram, drive to the Monarch Crest, and park in the lot. You can buy tickets to ride the
Tickets are about $22 per adult, with discounts for children. Because the tram runs high above the pass, it may close if winds are too strong, so hours can be weather-dependent.
