Rental cars are usually about $30-40 per day, and meals in Buena Vista are typically around $25-30 per person, depending on where you go. Sarah and Tyler will be covering the entry fee to Mt. Princeton hot springs on Sunday, June 27th. Guests will be responsible for paying for their food at the hot springs welcome party. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available for purchase.
We highly recommend renting a car as there will not be organized transportation from the airport to Buena Vista. Once in Buena Vista, the downtown is walkable, but transportation options are limited (there is no Uber or taxi service) Additionally, the hot springs and rafting events are spread throughout the area. We reccomend coordinating carpools with other guests.
Buena Vista sits approximately 8,000 feet above sea level. While altitude sickness does not affect everyone, is can be unpredictable. We reccomend drinking plenty of water prior to arriving in Colorado to prepare. You can also buy altitude sickness prevention options on Amazon. Please also remember, if you are coming from a lower altitude, drinking and smoking will affect you differently. It's generally agreed that for every 1 drink you have, it will feel like 2 due to the altitude. Please be responsible! Sunscreen is also highly reccomended since the sun feels much stronger up here!
While we aren't meteorologists, we can all agree, Colorado weather is predictably unpredictable. Mountain weather can change extremely quickly. Buena Vista is also known for especially windy afternoons. Days are often warm and sunny, while morning and evenings can be quite cool, especially in the mountains. We reccomend bringing layers
Our wedding will be semi-formal (think, polished and dressy). This includes cocktail dresses, midi dresses, and long dresses are encouraged. Suits and ties, or dress pants wth a blazer are also great options.
Please do not wear white, ivory, cream, plum, or teal blue.
Our wedding will be in the mountains, so we recommend bringing layers for cooler evening temperatures. Some walking on grass, gravel, or uneven terrain may be required, so choose footwear accordingly.
For the afterparty, we recommend bringing comfy clothes!
